Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a weird one, isn’t it.  Who on Earth came up with the idea of poking pins into someone to help them feel better?  But it works and there’s research to prove it.

And it’s not just for pain relief.

The theory is that acupuncture improves your mental health and at the same time addresses some of your other health issues.

Our Sharon uses Five Element Acupuncture, which attempts to press a reset button and get you feeling how you would have felt before all your symptoms or issues started.  As a result you should feel better.  Your physical pain can lead to, or stem from, stress, anxiety, depression or a major trauma.  Which means your stress and the pain are entangled in each other.

One of Sharon’s many skills is that she is very good at listening to you.  By listening to you talk through your full medical history she can work out whether there are any energetic blocks and really get to understand how you personally deal with what life throws at you.

Using needles she can then unblock the energy paths.

Unblocking your energy means you can start to feel better, and by rebalancing your system your mental health can improve as well.

Does it hurt?

Well, mostly no.  Acupuncture needles are about as thick as two hairs.  Yes, you read that right!  They’re very, very thin.  Often you don’t even know they’ve been put into your skin.  Occasionally you might feel a tingle or a dull ache from them, but mostly people feel very relaxed when the needles are in.
