The Epley Manoeuvre for Vertigo & Dizziness
If you’ve ever been hit with sudden dizziness or a spinning sensation when moving your head, you could be experiencing Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). This common condition occurs when tiny calcium particles (called canaliths) in the inner ear become dislodged and affect your balance. Symptoms often happen when you change positions—like turning over in bed or bending down—and can be unsettling or even debilitating.
The good news is that there’s a simple, non-invasive solution: the Epley Manoeuvre and two of our osteopaths Brooke Robinson and Jo Jones are trained to perform the technique.
The Epley Manoeuvre involves a series of gentle, guided head movements designed to reposition the dislodged calcium particles in the inner ear. These movements encourage the particles to return to their proper place, restoring balance and eliminating vertigo symptoms.
Many people notice improvement almost immediately after treatment, and some even report complete relief after just one or two sessions. Once the canaliths are realigned, you can enjoy a significant reduction in dizziness, allowing you to get back to your daily activities without the fear of sudden vertigo attacks.
Imagine how great it will feel to move freely again—getting out of bed without feeling the room spin, or being able to look up or down without that unsettling sense of imbalance. Our patients often tell us they feel a sense of freedom and relief after treatment, and it’s incredible how such a simple technique can make such a big difference.
If you or someone you know is suffering from dizziness or vertigo, don’t wait! Brooke Robinson and Jo Jones are here to help.
