Breastfeeding isn't always straightforward. We're here when it isn't.
If feeding feels painful, unsettled, or something just doesn't seem right, you don't have to keep guessing. Our breastfeeding consultancy appointments look at the whole picture — not just one symptom.
Sound familiar?
Parents come to us with a range of concerns. Any of these might be enough to book an appointment:
Who you'll see
Because our practitioners are osteopaths as well as a feeding specialists, they can assess not just how your baby feeds, but also whether jaw tension, neck stiffness, or body discomfort might be contributing to the problem. This is something most feeding appointments can't offer.
What happens at your appointment
Every appointment is unhurried. Here's what it typically involves:
Your story: A detailed conversation about your pregnancy, birth, and how feeding has gone since the beginning.
Watching a feed: Where appropriate, we observe a feed in real time.
Positioning and latch support: Practical, hands-on guidance if it's needed.
Tongue movement: A careful assessment of how your baby's tongue works during feeding, and how it looks at rest.
Whole-body assessment. A gentle look at your baby's jaw, neck and body movement, and how these may be affecting feeding comfort and coordination.
Practical next steps: Everything will be explained in plain language, with honest guidance on what may help, whether that's support here, onward referral, or simply reassurance.
