Are swelling and lymphoedema bothering you?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a very gentle, rhythmic form of massage that stimulates the flow of lymph. Lymph is a clear fluid that helps remove waste and toxins from your body’s tissues.
Treatment is gentle and relaxing and is carried out by a fully qualified osteopath.
By encouraging lymphatic circulation, MLD can:
Support your immune system
Reduce fluid retention
Promote healing
Reduce swelling

Lymphatic drainage massage relieves swelling that occurs when illness or medical treatment clogs your lymphatic system.
The massage involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to move excess fluid buildup away from your tissues and toward working lymph vessels and nodes so they can get rid of toxins in your body.
Treatment is very relaxing and you will probably feel great afterwards.
Lymphatic Drainage is often used to manage conditions such as:
Lymphoedema
Post-surgical swelling
Chronic inflammation.
MLD can also help you if you are recovering from injuries, experiencing fatigue, or seeking to improve their overall sense of wellbeing.
MLD cannot cure infections, cancer, or chronic diseases such as heart failure or kidney disease. It also does not directly aid in weight loss or significantly alter body composition, despite some misconceptions.

Please note:
MLD cannot cure infections, cancer, or chronic diseases such as heart failure or kidney disease.
It also does not directly aid in weight loss or significantly alter body composition, despite some misconceptions. This is not an aesthetics treatment.
You should avoid MLD if you have:
Acute infection
Active cancer (unless medically cleared)
Deep vein thrombosis
Uncontrolled congestive heart failure
Certain skin conditions like acute eczema or dermatitis.
Georgie McGahey says:
“Lymphatic drainage aims to improve lymph movement in the whole body so you feel better as well as having less swelling.”
